About Me

Hi, I'm Tracy!

I am an experienced Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant who is passionate about helping moms and babies have the best breastfeeding experience possible!  I was inspired to start Teapot Lactation when I started hearing from some of my hospital clients how much it would help them if only they could take me home with them.  I started thinking about making it my mission to serve new families in their home environments and, voila, Teapot Lactation was born!

I am affiliated with Lactation Network for insurance billing (bills most Blue Cross, Anthem, UHC, UMR, Multiplan, and PNOA PPOs and some Cigna PPOs).

If you have an active Health Insurance plan with one of the listed providers and plan to use insurance coverage through The Lactation Network, please click the link in the Header Bar or click here to apply for coverage. You will be redirected to a form on The Lactation Network’s website.  The Lactation Network will notify you (and me) via email when your request has been processed and will communicate about your coverage status.

If you do not currently have Health Insurance or are ineligible for coverage through The Lactation Network, I will provide you with a receipt and a coded Superbill after each visit.  For clients with an active Health Insurance policy, you may submit these documents to your Primary insurance provider and request reimbursement for Outpatient Lactation Services which are generally covered under the Affordable Care act of 2010 for most policies. Please note that reimbursement is not guaranteed.

Read what Mamas like you have to say about my services!

Tracy was recommended to me by a friend who was very impressed by her and I'm so glad I took her recommendation! A little background: my daughter was a NICU stay with little to no physical contact between us until after she was cleared for discharge. Little to no lactation support or education while at the hospital either. So we got home and just were trying our best to make things work which ended up with me having excruciating nipple pain on one side. Like worse than my C-section recovery, bringing me to tears, pain. Tracy listened to our history and experience with the pregnancy, hospital, and finally being home. She provided much needed validation, encouragement, and support to this worn out, ready to give up mama. She assessed us both and worked with us on establishing a breastfeeding position that eliminated the pain I was experiencing and got her in the optimal position for feeding. Her weighted assessment told us how much breast milk we need to supplement with feedings while my daughter builds up her muscles and stamina. I had a written version of what we discussed that same day so that I could reference back to it. And the very next day she contacted me to check in and see how things were going and answered the questions I had.

Tracy was great. As a first time mom trying to navigate all the new, breastfeeding was made a lot easier by having someone you can trust to answer questions. Not sure I could have done it without her! 7 months and still going strong! 10/10 recommend.

I have successfully breastfed 3 babies now and I owe it all to Tracy and tips, tricks and skills she has taught me. My first baby was sooo stubborn. He refused to latch and when he did so, he did so poorly. Instead of just suggesting supplementing with formula, Tracy pulled out all the stops to get that baby fed! We did syringe feeds, finger feeds, manual expression of milk to entice him and using a nipple shield. She went above and beyond has continued to do so. I’m on my 3rd baby now and she is having a lot of the same issues as my first. (2nd baby nursed like a dream, no issues)?Tracy did a thorough oral exam and found cheek ties that were missed. She showed me exercises to do to help stretch the muscle and help her get a deeper latch. I will always sing Tracy’s praises and recommend her to any breastfeeding momma!

Tracy has gone above and beyond to help not only establish but nurture our breastfeeding journey. As new parents, there is so much conflicting information on social media/ blogs/ Dr. Google that can lead to a lack of confidence and anxiety. Tracy approaches every meeting with kindness, compassion, and a wealth of knowledge that help both parents to feel empowered and hopeful. In addition to breastfeeding, Tracy also seeks to understand the "whole" picture of the child/ family- providing recommendations for chiropractic care, counseling, and additional therapies if need be. If you are looking for a lactation consultant, look no further! We are so grateful for Tracy and look forward to continuing to work together!

After starting my breastfeeding journey, I felt so lost and clueless as to what I was doing. I thought I was doing things wrong or something was wrong with my body because my baby was struggling to stay latched. I started using nipple shields after leaving the hospital, which helped a lot, but I’d read online that you can’t use them longterm. At 6 weeks postpartum, I developed mastitis. I was defeated and wondering if I should give up nursing. I called Tracy and she was so helpful over the phone - we set up an appointment and I saw her the next week. She was very personable, caring and professional. She knows what she is doing, but still makes you feel comfortable and helps you to understand all of the information she’s giving WITHOUT overwhelming you. I left our appointment feeling such relief knowing there wasn’t anything wrong with me and that there are ways to fix our small problems so we can continue breastfeeding. Along with nursing help, she was concerned for my well being as a mom. She gave me resources for therapists and ways to cope with postpartum emotions. Lastly, she’s been diligent to check in and address any questions I ask. Overall, I’d recommend Tracy to anyone! The best thing from all of it was that she didn’t overwhelm me and I have a care plan in my email that I can read over often to make sure I’m doing what I need to do!

Tracy is hands down the best lactation consultant to work with. As a first time mom I had so many questions and concerns that I needed help with. Tracy was able to meet with me within a day or so and address my needs. Very professional and knowledgeable! She has helped my breastfeeding experience for both me and my baby for the better!

I couldn’t be more thankful for Tracy! I called her when my daughter started a long nursing strike and she was able to fit us in that same week! She did a full assessment and we quickly discovered significant oral restriction was the cause of our nursing issues. Tracy was so understanding that there was also an emotional component to this and quickly reassured me that this was not my fault, and that it was actually amazing we had made it this far. She connected us to all of the right people to address the oral restriction. Other friends who have had babies with ties can’t believe how quickly we’re getting seen by specialists and that everyone is on the same page. Tracy developed a plan to help us get the restriction corrected and also provided a plan to make sure baby stayed healthy in the meantime. I don’t know where we would be without Tracy!
