About Me

Hi, I'm Tracy!

Meet Tracy

I am a Registered Nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who is passionate about helping ALL families reach their breastfeeding goals!  I have experience working both in hospital settings and in private practice. While I have helped many families dealing with latching problems, low milk supply, weaning, pumping, blocked ducts, and many of the more common issues that lead a new parent to seek Lactation help, I do have a few areas of specialty. These include caring for multiples and medically fragile infants, functional feeding evaluation and screening for tongue tie, investigating possible infant food allergies and reactivity, induced lactation/re-lactation, and LGBTQIA+-affirming Lactation care. I ALWAYS practice inclusive, ethical, trauma-informed, evidence-informed Lactation Care. My goals are to focus on YOUR GOALS!! I appreciate your choice to trust me, and I'm committed to helping YOU create the feeding experience YOU want for YOUR family.

Read what Mamas like you have to say about my services!

Tracy is the most genuinely caring and patient health care professional I have ever met. She took one look at our baby and was able to help us steer us in the right direction to improve her latch, remove tension keeping her from being able to feed efficiently, and helped us discover & understand our baby’s specific food allergies/needs. Tracy made continuing breastfeeding possible for me by removing barriers and advocating for us. When we first saw her, I was drowning after my baby had been hospitalized because of a virus she contracted after birth. She lost too much weight during her hospitalization and was nursing inefficiently for over an hour at a time, at least 8+ times per day. I was withering away! Tracy helped us understand that our baby has some food intolerances. Since making some changes to my diet, my baby has managed to double her birth weight in three months since seeing Tracy, and now feeds with ease and bliss! I love knowing that Tracy is there for us, and we are so thankful for the way she cares for us and our baby. She has inspired and empowered me to continue breastfeeding for as long as I am able, despite initial challenges with illness, food allergies, weight gain, and latch. She makes the presumed impossible feel possible! I cannot recommend her enough!

Tracy has been incredibly helpful as we navigate breastfeeding as new parents. She was understanding, listened to our challenges and provided recommendations that helped within 24 hours of implementing. So glad we were able to have Tracy support our breastfeeding journey.

I went from feeling completely hopeless to feeling (almost) like I’ve got this with one consultation! Tracy gave me practical advice and tools that I can confidently use. I can’t wait to learn More!

Highly recommend! I took Tracy’s breastfeeding class prior to my son’s birth and met with her one-on-one for an initial consultation during pregnancy. She helped me feel confident and prepared for what was to come. I had such peace of mind starting out motherhood knowing I had a knowledgable, supportive resource readily available. She came to my home (in the snow!) for a home visit several days postpartum and it was such a blessing. In-home lactation support is a postpartum godsend! With her help, I have exclusively breastfed my son and he returned to birth weight in record time (day 5 of life). His pediatrician was so impressed! Do yourself a favor and hire Tracy. She is the real deal.

Tracy is very supportive and does her job very well, she was able to find out what’s going on with me and my baby and get a whole goal plan set up to move forward with this journey, she doesn’t hesitate to reach out when you need it most, if it wasn’t for Tracy our breastfeeding journey would’ve probably came to an end, so happy I found her when I did! I couldn’t recommend her enough.

I thoroughly appreciated my time with Tracy Potter. My husband and I met with her prior to our son’s arrival and she took the time to walk through the fundamentals of breastfeeding, how to accomplish our goals, and even provided specific advice on our particular situation regarding my upcoming C-Section. She really is remarkably well-informed, professional, and approachable. I already know that our follow-up appointments are going to go well off the basis of that initial meeting and I now have confidence in breastfeeding. Can’t recommend Tracy highly enough!

Tracy is the most competent, compassionate, thorough Lactation Consultant I've worked with after having three babies in three different cities. She genuinely cares for the success of the mom and baby above all else and strives to help her clients with every resource available, while making everything as easy on mom as possible. I highly recommend Tracy to anybody with any sort of breastfeeding challenge because she will want to see you succeed in your journey and I believe she will stick with you until you do.

I scheduled an appointment with Tracy and could not be more satisfied! As a first time mom I needed hands on help with all the things from positioning, latching, cues, etc and she was there to help with it all. She took her time and helped explain why things worked and what to look for. Overall, I could not be more thankful for her!

I’ve only met with Tracy for our prenatal consultation & she was amazing. I’ve attended classes about breast feeding/pumping & they’ve been so informational & great but to have someone, like Tracy, available to me makes a world of a difference. While I know it’s only been one meeting I’m thankful that she’s been validating, knowledgeable, & empathetic. She’s taken the main points of breastfeeding & made it streamline for me to process. She validates your journey, is empathetic to all stories & differences, & so so knowledgeable. I can’t wait to continue my journey with her postpartum.

I am about to start my breastfeeding journey and I’ve been fearful because of my first experience. Tracy has taken that all away within the first visit. I appreciate her attention and her ability to help me explore options so I don’t feel stuck in one way of doing things. I am looking forward to working with her as we bring our second child into the world.

- Kelly Bailey

I very much appreciate the help and knowledge I gained by coming to Tracy

Tracy is extremely knowledgeable and compassionate. Being a 3rd time mom, I figured I knew most of what I needed to make my breastfeeding journey successful, but she taught me many things I didn’t know!! I am SO thankful for what she does and how passionate she is and look forward to having her by my side during my nursing journey.

Even after just one meeting with Tracy I feel SO much more equipped and prepared for this journey ahead! Successfully breastfeeding has been one of my biggest anxieties with beginning motherhood, even more so than labor/delivery, but after attending Tracy's breastfeeding class at Breathe + having a one on one consultation with her, I feel so much more at ease and ready for what lies ahead, and a lot of my anxieties have been relieved knowing I have someone reliable to go to if problems do arise..

- Makaela

I Tracy was very compassionate and helpful. Breast feeding has been a very difficult journey for me and she has helped make it easier. She is very knowledgeable and has given me so many resources to help make it an easier process for me. Thank you Tracy!.

Tracy is the best! She is so thorough and evaluated every thing including pumping, sizing, baby’s mouth, and feeding. She taught new feeding positions that are helpful and gave very helpful referrals. Very thankful she was recommended to me and I would highly recommend her to others!

- Cari pellegrino

Tracy was great. As a first time mom trying to navigate all the new, breastfeeding was made a lot easier by having someone you can trust to answer questions. Not sure I could have done it without her! 7 months and still going strong! 10/10 recommend.

Ms. Potter is knowledgeable, competent and compassionate in providing lactation care. She doesn’t pressure you or promote an agenda. Her focus is to help you meet your goal, even if that goal is to stop nursing safely. She provides support and evidence based strategies.

Tracy was recommended to me by a friend who was very impressed by her and I'm so glad I took her recommendation! A little background: my daughter was a NICU stay with little to no physical contact between us until after she was cleared for discharge. Little to no lactation support or education while at the hospital either. So we got home and just were trying our best to make things work which ended up with me having excruciating nipple pain on one side. Like worse than my C-section recovery, bringing me to tears, pain. Tracy listened to our history and experience with the pregnancy, hospital, and finally being home. She provided much needed validation, encouragement, and support to this worn out, ready to give up mama. She assessed us both and worked with us on establishing a breastfeeding position that eliminated the pain I was experiencing and got her in the optimal position for feeding. Her weighted assessment told us how much breast milk we need to supplement with feedings while my daughter builds up her muscles and stamina. I had a written version of what we discussed that same day so that I could reference back to it. And the very next day she contacted me to check in and see how things were going and answered the questions I had.

I have successfully breastfed 3 babies nod and I owe it all to Tracy and tips, tricks and skills she has taught me. My first baby was sooo stubborn. He refused to latch and when he did so, he did so poorly. Instead of just suggesting supplementing with formula, Tracy pulled out all the stops to get that baby fed! We did syringe feeds, finger feeds, manual expression of milk to entice him and using a nipple shield. She went above and beyond has continued to do so. I’m on my 3rd baby now and she is having a lot of the same issues as my first. (2nd baby nursed like a dream, no issues)?Tracy did a thorough oral exam and found cheek ties that were missed. She showed me exercises to do to help stretch the muscle and help her get a deeper latch. I will always sing Tracy’s praises and recommend her to any breastfeeding momma!

Tracy has gone above and beyond to help not only establish but nurture our breastfeeding journey. As new parents, there is so much conflicting information on social media/ blogs/ Dr. Google that can lead to a lack of confidence and anxiety. Tracy approaches every meeting with kindness, compassion, and a wealth of knowledge that help both parents to feel empowered and hopeful. In addition to breastfeeding, Tracy also seeks to understand the "whole" picture of the child/ family- providing recommendations for chiropractic care, counseling, and additional therapies if need be. If you are looking for a lactation consultant, look no further! We are so grateful for Tracy and look forward to continuing to work together!
